We are pleased to share recently published article in the journal Arts and the Market.

The paper helps to open up an audience-centered approach to street art, focusing on the distinguishing characteristics of contemporary street art, and how these nuances pertain the particular ways in which everyday citizens encounter street art in the course of daily life.

The paper also argues that a better understanding of individual street art experiences is necessary to better understand (and systematically evidence) the effects and broader ‘cultural value’ of this art for individuals, communities and societies.

The image (a photo of mine taken 2014 Camden UK) illustrates multiple people encountering street art, in a single moment, within the flow of their everyday lives. So many variations, layers, assumptions and perspectives to unravel within these experiences.
