Since 2018 we’ve been working with the talented illustrator and mural artist, Lauritz Hansen aka LZHN. He works out of Copenhagen, and has influenced the scene in a more illustrative direction. Working side by side with the best muralists Denmark has to offer, he often challenges their technical and complex styles. Sometimes the simple, really well-cut motive is equally challenging. Doing more with less, is this guys incredible talent.
In this article, we put the spotlight on Lauritz and his background as we INTERVIEW HIM AT THE STREET ART FESTIVAL, MEETING OF STYLES.
ARTIST INTERVIEW WITH LAURITZ
How did you come to be an artist?
I've been drawing all my life and have always been drawn to express myself creatively.
Tell me about your style and use of color
Goofy, curved, stylized characters, Vibrant, flow, speed.
Why do/did you want to join Meeting of Styles?
I love graffiti, and this event honors that – i'm honored to be part of the artist team this year.
Who are your biggest influences?
Hmm, MANY ... but if I'd have to pick some I'd say Dragonball, Jim Carrey, My dad, Askew, Nychos, F21st, Nature.
What inspires you?
Nature, Comics, Adventure, colors, my surroundings and good vibes.
What is your favourite location so far and what makes this your favourite?
Copenhagen – because its a relatively small town that easy and fast to get around on a bike :)
What would be your dream location/collaboration/project?
My dream right now is to get to make a Mural on af BIG building and work on a larger scale than usual. YES - lets go! :)
