Meeting of Styles Copenhagen 2021

When did you start painting and how did you get into it?

Started in 1998 - My older friend told me that there is something called tagging and that it's a cool thing. He told me all the basic rules about hip-hop culture and we formed a crew called TRL.

Describe your style

Based on someone’s opinion:
conceptual 3D style.

What are your inspirations?

I wish Caravaggio, George Condo and Dutch Golden Age inspired me but I guess I just copy what other graffiti writers do.

What is special about your home city and it's art scene?

It's diverse, respectful and quite united.

What is your favourite painting location so far and what makes this your favourite?

Abandoned chemicals factory which I found near my home few years ago. It was huge space untouched by other graffiti writers with many type of spots.

What would be your dream location/collaboration/project?

Abandoned nuclear plant.

Describe a perfect painting day

Sunny spring day - 22'C, no clouds ;)

What does graffiti/street art mean to you?

It's the only one group which I truly belong to.

Are you more into solo artworks or into collaborative productions?

Solo.

Who are your favourite artist(s) to collaborate with so far?

Can't answer.

What do you think about Meeting of Styles and painting jams in general?

There is nothing better. It's a best way of competing on a base of good vibe.

13 How do you see the rise of street art and new tendencies like big scale muralismo?

More accessible culture.

How do you see the commercialisation of graffiti and street art?

Art is supposed to be for sale.

What do you think about social media in terms of graffiti and how do you think it affects the scene?

Pros:
Easy way to communicate with followers, Easy to find contact artists, curators, festival organizators, galleries, collectors.

Cons:
Distortion of assessment (what is good and what is popular), ego problems, focusing to much on being global then being local.

Name the aspects you dislike about graffiti/street art

Lack of real art criticism, superficial evaluation.

Name the aspects you love about graffiti/street art

Social experiences and gatherings like jams, festivals, shows.

In your opinion, what is the most exciting thing happening these years in graffiti or street art?

Podcasts with street artists - it's an awesome thing where you can hear their stories, their way of making business and some technical stuff.

Does your personal situation affect your way of painting?

yes - it affects in a good way. I have a fully elastic work time.

If you could compare your style with music, what would it sound like?

I'm not objective in the same way as I can't say which artist inspired me the most. I wish minimal techno or neo trance is a good reference, and hope it's not disco-pop.

What is the most current topics of modern society for you?

Disinformation, polarization, denial of scientific proofs.

If you were president or king, what would you change?

I'd raise the taxes for the car owners. And of course more legal walls ;)
